Our New Pinterest Board Features Photographs of Parisian Chefs and Restaurant Owners

Our Featured Chefs and Restaurant Owners

Our Featured Chefs and Restaurant Owners

We have been writing extensive monthly restaurant reviews for our Paris Insights newsletter since October 2006. One of the elements that makes our reviews unique, we think, is that we interview each chef and include his or her photograph in the review. Until recently, there has been no convenient way to post their photographs in one spot so that the world can see who these hard-working, talented people are. We are pleased to announce that, thanks to Pinterest, we can now draw back the curtain and present them on the world stage!

As always, access to our monthly restaurant review comes with an annual subscription to our newsletter.

And now, to celebrate the launching of our new Pinterest board we are offering, for a limited time, a $5.00 discount off the annual subscription rate of $30.00. That’s a savings of almost 17%! Enter code 57934 in the Promotional Code box of the “Subscribe to Our Newsletter” sign-up form to receive your discount.

Wow! It doesn’t get any better than this! Act now while this offer lasts!

SOS Paris is an association founded in 1973 for the purpose of defending the city’s architectural heritage. In October, I had the opportunity to meet with four members of the group to learn what can be done to safeguard the beauty of the city that is falling prey to politicians and developers who seem not to care about preserving its historic character. Read my account in this month’s Paris Insights.

While African-American Josephine Baker is generally considered to be the first widely-acclaimed black performer in Paris with her entry onto the stage in 1925 at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, another black artist, whose stage name was Chocolat, had already achieved celebrity status in the city some forty years before her arrival in the City of Light. Read about Chocolat in this month’s Paris Insights.

This column, called a Morris column, stands at place Django Reinhardt in the 18th arrondissement. Bearing the name of this famous jazz guitarist, the column and the place were inaugurated on January 21, 2010 in his memory.

In the July edition of our Paris Insights newsletter, I wrote about Reinhardt and the café in the adjoining town of Saint-Ouen that is dedicated to the type of music that he played.
